MRVL stall at Wales High School 50 Fest

picnic on coronation park 2021

We had a great day at Wales High School – 50 Fest celebrating their 50th Anniversary. We had lots of visitors to our stall including Albie, the grandson of our late President and friend Dave Parker. Albie won a prize on our Tombola stall and he’s pictured in front of the Tombola drum which his grandad made. Alexander Stafford MP also came to say hello and Lion Pat made a friend who came back later to bring her a red rose! Congratulations to Wales High School on their 50 years Anniversary from all at MRVL Club.

MRVL are proud to support The Sick Children’s Trust

1st class honours for Dinnington student, Naomi Hall

Maltby Rother Valley Lions are proud to support The Sick Children’s Trust (Homes from Home) who support families of sick children by giving them somewhere to stay minutes from the hospital where seriously ill children are being treated. Lion Ant Peet presented a cheque to Ann from Magnolia House at Sheffield Children’s Hospital on behalf of the club and we hope that this donation helps with their wonderful work there.

2020 Christmas donations raise £18,700 for MRVL

Maltby Rother Valley Lions were very busy over the Christmas period bringing some much needed Christmas cheer to our local communities. Our two sleighs travelled the streets with Santa for two weeks before Christmas which was made possible with the help of our wonderful team of helpers, old and new, who turn out whatever the weather. We could not do this without you.

It was very different this year with Covid restrictions, not stopping for photographs and socially distancing and a big thank you to our helpers and to the community for helping us to keep to these rules. Also thank you to our local MP Alexander Stafford, who contacted RMBC on our behalf and supported us on our Sleigh runs and Static sleighs and also to PRS/ PPL who supplied our music licence.

Santa and his helpers also visited numerous local schools where the children were brought out in their bubbles, all socially distanced, to ask him questions and chat with lots of wonderful laughter and singing too!

Thank you from Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club

In addition thankyou to all the local schools and businesses who raffled our Advent trees and made donations. Our club has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Maltby and Rother Valley in these difficult times, helping us to raise this magnificent amount of money and enabling us to help many causes and those in need in our communities. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to you all.

Mrs Morris drew the Maltby Lions’ Advent Tree raffle today during PRIDE assembly. Thank you to everyone for your support, we managed to raise nearly £200 which is amazing! All of this money will go back in to the local community through the work of Maltby Lions. I am pleased to announce that the winners were Miss Wilsher and Mr Jones who have won the advent tree on behalf of the year 4 class - one egg will be earned each day by the class! ?
