Maltby Rother Valley Lions first meeting at Hellaby Hall Hotel is a real success

1st class honours for Dinnington student, Naomi Hall

Maltby Rother Valley Lions had a very busy meeting last week. The first at our new meeting venue at Hellaby Hall Hotel. Our longest serving member, Pat Harker, enrolled Margaret Margaret Brown Weatherall and Phil Butler and we all welcomed them to the club. Congratulations to you both, we’re sure that you will be very valuable members.

We also welcomed three visitors to the meeting Alexander Stafford MP, Naomi Hall and Brian Kamau (Naomi’s son). Alexander, as our local MP for Rother Valley, has supported our club in the past and we hope that our relationship will continue, helping our work in the communities of Rother Valley. Naomi Hall told us how she has achieved a 1st class honours degree at Sheffield University and is now planning to do a Masters. She told us how our Student of the Year Award in 2017 helped her to achieve her success.

We are proud to support Academies in the area with our annual awards, helping local students to achieve their academic goals.

Congratulations and very well done to Naomi Hall who has achieved a BSc in Medical Science with 1st class honours at Sheffield University and is now planning to do a Masters degree. “I really appreciate the money I received which helped me to buy books which were especially helpful during lockdown when I sometimes couldn’t access library services. This is an example of what your charity contributes to the society. It was a massive help, thank you”.

Our Club wishes Naomi the best of luck for the future.
